
El Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports has announced the opening of the application period for the MEC scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year, a call that will have a historic budget of 2.544 millones de euros, what represents 1.100 billion more than in the 2017-2018 academic year.
From the Monday, March 24 to May 14, 2025, the application period for general scholarships is now open Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports for the academic year 2025-2026.
These grants are aimed at students of university teachings y higher artistic teachings (Bachelor's and Master's degrees), as well as students of Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and other non-university studies.
One of the main new features of this call is the equalization of students of higher artistic education with university students in access to and the amount of aid. This measure will directly benefit some 7.000 students, among them, the students of the “Alicia Alonso” University Institute of Dance.
Students who are enrolled in the following courses may apply for aid:
Important: The application must be submitted within the established deadline Even if the student does not yet know the final grades for the current course or the training itinerary he or she will follow next year. The data can be modified later.
Family income assistance: until € 1.700
Help for change of residence: until € 2.700 (increased compared to last year)
Aid for academic excellence: in between 50 and 125 €
25% increase in the fixed amounts for students with disability from 25% to 65%
Equalization of students of higher artistic teachings with university students (it will benefit some 7.000 students)
In addition, academic requirements are relaxed for adult victims of sexual assault, equating them with minors and victims of gender violence in the conditions of access.
The specific call for students with disability, severe behavioral or communication disorders, autism spectrum disorder, or high abilities will be opened later. In the previous edition, the deadline was from April 30 to September 13.
