Comprehensive Tutors

Comprehensive tutors in the Degree in Visual Arts and Dance with Mention, according to the current regulations of the University Institute of Dance, a Center affiliated to the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), play a key role in the academic and professional training of students. These tutors not only provide support in academic development, but also guide students in personal and professional aspects, with the aim of facilitating a comprehensive educational experience.

Functions and Responsibilities of Comprehensive Tutors

  • Academic Advising: Comprehensive tutors help students plan and organize their studies, recommending elective subjects based on their interests and professional orientations, in accordance with the specializations available in the Degree. In addition, they review academic progress and suggest corrective actions when necessary.
  • Career Guidance: Throughout the program, comprehensive tutors provide guidance regarding job opportunities and career paths related to specific specializations, such as acting, choreography, cultural management or teaching in visual arts and dance. They also promote contact with institutions and professionals in the sector, facilitating the graduates' job placement.
  • Personalized Monitoring: One of the distinctive characteristics of comprehensive tutors is the continuous and personalized monitoring of the student throughout the Degree. This includes the identification of difficulties, both academic and personal, that may interfere with the development of their studies, and the creation of intervention strategies or referral to specialized services at the university, if necessary.
  • Guidance on Internships and Final Degree Projects (TFG): Comprehensive tutors also play an active role in supervising external internships and in guiding the completion of the Final Degree Project, providing methodological tools and support in the selection of topics that allow the student to practically apply the knowledge acquired during the Degree.
  • Encouraging Active Participation: Comprehensive tutors motivate students to participate in extracurricular activities, such as seminars, conferences, workshops and artistic projects inside and outside the university. These activities contribute to enriching the student's cultural and professional training, promoting broader learning and connecting theory with practice.

Importance of Tutors at IUDAA - URJC

The URJC regulations underline the importance of comprehensive tutors as essential figures to guarantee personalized training tailored to the individual needs of students. In the case of the Degrees in Visual Arts and Dance, with their specific mentions, the role of the tutor takes on an even greater dimension, since he or she must take into account not only the academic aspects, but also the artistic, professional and emotional aspects that training in creative disciplines entails. Comprehensive tutoring thus becomes a fundamental pillar for the academic success and comprehensive development of future professionals in the artistic field.
